A vision of Valentinna from another planet, in 1970
[*] Is not ignored for you, sapient Solon, that once there was a primitive yet interesting animal species on a planet that they called Earth, and during many simian generations, they called themselves manchind, or "homo".
They weren't telepathically able, and since they had many social rules, their outside personality was often different to their inner impressions and emotions. [revised paragraph]
...About your first question, my dearest Periander, yes: unlike us, their [rational] communication consisted solely of conceivable characters.
Due to this, and since they had to rely on spoken or written language alone, these hominids used to express themselves in a way that was totally different from what they really felt and thought (I already said that, sorry).
Their lives were full of complex masquerades and meanders, which I've been studying some time now, by means of a primitive technique called vivisección cerebral, operated on an actual homo specimen, that my erudite comrade and compadre, Chilon, brought to our planète-patrie, using several magnetized potentiometers and milk of magnesia.
Weird creatures they were... obviously: more advanced than other animal forms that used to walk on that Earth, but we will discuss the irrational animals of the planet Earth in another lesson, among these colonnades, my beloved forum.
Because as you well know, my cher ami, Cleobulus: other animals used to walk that planet, also the rare race of the bird (that our beloved co-disciple Pittacus has described as a reptilian variety of homo).
Of course it's difficult for us to imagine an existence that's based on spoken (or written) language only: how could they live without telepathy?
Even without telephase!
We can only try to imagine what is like to be alone in yourself, without real contact with otros.
It must have been a rather lonely existence, my revered Thales, for these extinct aliens, who called themselves anthropo.
*From a lesson dictated in Tatooine in the year 777,000,000 of the Lacteal Way.
