Then, and all of a sudden, no-one knows well why, from the Basque Country (that perverse and ingenuous angle of Iberia), a TV programme started being broadcasted one day of the year 2021, first on intranet, and then, on internet

a TV programme? From the Basque Country? Although the programme was not produced there? But in the satellites of the sky?


The name of the experiment was "El Monitor de España" which (using some kind of sophisticated or unorthodoxly implemented software) showed every thing that happened on the streets of the nation and anywhere, in real time, from satellites whose cameras were focusing on desolate lanes of the last village at night, or on the overcrowded Gran Vía of Barcelona at 4 PM

everything was showed, every thing, focusing nervously on random spots that shifted all the time, from a lane of Matajudíos, to an ample avenue of Seville, from la Escalerona in Gijón, to the most miserable path in Atapuerca: the show was the real life, without make-up, because

... because the image shifted all the time, like a sick eye that wanted to see everything at the same time
because the programme and the channel were one only and same thing: "El Monitor de España", and no-one would keep his intimacy for long anymore.

The orticón of the cameras started scrutinizing into homes, clubs, bars and motels
through the windows
through doors that stayed carelessly open
the eyes in the sky watched and transmitted nationwide things that the people did in their gardens, rooftops, rooms and patios

everyone started watching everyone doing everything through "El Monitor de España"

and mirrors fixed on the front of the buildings reflected scenes that happened at the recondite and concavous angles of the dormitories

Seeing the dangerous potential of this emmission the Central Government tried to control

the operators were arrested

the responsibles were prosecuted

the programmers were incarcerated in summary judgement



but the idea was too good and had too much audience to cut it:

one week later "El Monitor de España" starts being broadcasted on a channel of télévision généraliste, but the emmisiion lasted only 3 hours a day, and it was considerably censored and adjusted to morals.
