The Hammer of the Town
Because the primitive blazon of the village -today forgotten- had an enigmatic central hammer of silver surrounded by two angels, on the dexter and sinister flanks, escorting the inescutcheon respectively.
Because the first settlement of the village was built from the Ocean, by phantasmal peoples in the Ocean engendered
and from the Ocean the saliva, the cement, the iron and the wood to build it were taken.
The prophecy says that, one day, «When the waters reach the unseen apex of its tidal altitude», the colossal silvern hammer will emerge from the Ocean, limpid and wet at the sunlight, hitting the old boardwalks of Xixón with one only, deafening and heavy blow, remitting the whole town to the depths of its abyssal, oceanic and unknown mother.
