I feel I lived two lives

The delicate sound of thunder falls on the avenue of the wolves

he is telling me that all we want is a nepenthe in the dark

a balsam for the hours of frustration.

Last night, the winds clashed on all the Buenos Aires corners and walls.
I swear it.

Corners fallen off the edge of the world, streets whose names I forgot.

This flame in my pocket burnt the map.

The thunder wakes me up confused and damned, I really wake up now, though I still yawn

if, at least, this town had smog...

How long I'm going to put advices in my mind with distress every day?
How long I will feel guilty for who knows what reason?

I jump out of the bed.

I shave, I'm clumsy, my chin bleeds
I drink my coffee like a golden monkey
The toast has a perfectly centered and neat slice of low calories cheese on it, it's like an Anglosaxon breakfast gone weird and Spartan
I bite a little bit of toast, like a canary would do
Really a strange individual
I'm an occidental modern man with cell-phone and a mental cumulation of social residues and behavioral garbage, too heavy load to carry
I feel I lived two lives
The morning radio is in flames spitting news about the Eurocollapse like a machine gun
Someone mentions the King and the new prime minister's investiture on Monday
A truck of the fire brigade passes by a near street, or it's an ambulance?
The siren sounds like those parsimonious European sirens that I only knew in European movies with odd camera angles
Through the window I see umbrellas passing by on the sidewalks of a world where nobody is a friend
It was designed to be like this by people who cannot stand anything
Some of them walk like parallelepipeds, some others like equilateral triangles
From the heights of a building roof, a big seagull spreads her wings and flies in the rain
Her streamlined wings whisper without words that she's more free than me, and than you
I catch the umbrella and go out, I enter the elevator
The elevator's floor has rain drops, as it descends I read the indication again "Please don't smoke here"
My steps walk now along the entrance hall, I open the glassy door, I join the human herd
Just another nameless face on the wet sidewalks, just another citizen of the Empire of Once Upon a Time
Just nobody.
